To make the republic cleaner

Parliamentarians in the course of the plenary session considered the legislative initiative of Oleg Vasilaty, considering amendments to the Law on Payments for Environmental Pollution and the Use of Natural Resources. The legislator proposed to introduce payment for the placement of solid domestic waste. According to the author of the law-in-draft, the new fee, on the one hand, will allow to finance targeted measures to eliminate spontaneous landfills, on the other - it will stimulate citizens to conclude agreements on garbage disposal with specialized enterprises.

At the same time, the parliamentarian noted that the introduction of this mechanism is in fact an "economic lever", which will encourage citizens to conclude agreements for the export of solid household waste with specialized enterprises. Pay for the service for garbage disposal will be cheaper than paying for its placement.

Deputy of the Supreme Council Oleg Leontyev drew the attention of parliamentarians to the fact that not all villages are serviced by specialized enterprises. The head of the profile committee informed that the Supreme Council is considering a legislative initiative providing for the possibility of providing services for the export of solid household waste by individual entrepreneurs. In his opinion, this will make this service more accessible to the population.

The legislative initiative was adopted by the deputy corps in the first reading. Its consideration will continue taking into account the comments and suggestions.
