The Supreme Council deputies have adjusted the Code of Administrative Offenses for the safety of pedestrians. A separate penalty has been introduced for driving while intoxicated on electric scooters, gyro scooters, segways and other personal mobility devices. The goal is to prevent accidents and automobile-pedestrian accidents. Traffic militia officers will be able to use breathalyzers with electric scooter riders, or they will need to undergo an examination in medical institutions. If the fact of intoxication is confirmed, the offender will have to pay a fine of 150 minimum wages (2760 rubles). The same fine is prescribed for refusing a medical examination.
The deputies removed the originally proposed, in addition to the fine, restriction on the use of a special right for a period of 1 year with the amendments to the second reading. The so-called "range" of fines for driving a personal mobility vehicle while intoxicated was also excluded. The adopted law-in-draft on amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Offenses has been sent to the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for signing. It will enter into force 14 days after the day of official publication.
