The first issue of this year's official newspaper of the Supreme Council - “The Councils of the People” newspaper was published. The article about the visit of the Pridnestrovian delegation to Paris, which included Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba opens it. Representatives of Pridnestrovie for the first time took part in the session of the special subcommittee on conflicts of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, dedicated to the problems of regulating the relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

Moscow was after Paris, where the leaders of our parliament Alexander Shcherba and Galina Antyufeeva took part in the International Christmas Educational Readings. A monument to innocently murdered people was opened in the years of the fascist occupation of 1941-1944 in Tiraspol and a round table "Holocaust in the historical memory of Pridnestrovie" was held. Participants of these mourning events, timed to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, were parliamentarians Alexander Shcherba, Grigory Dyachenko and Igor Buga. The plans for this year for state authorities were spoken during the extended meeting of the government of the republic with the participation of the President Vadim Krasnoselsky and members of the Presidium of the Supreme Council. Deputy of the Supreme Council Petr Pasat initiated to the President the adoption of the decree on declaring the year 2018 a year of equal opportunities. Such a decision was made.
