Public official shall be responsible for mistakes

A group of deputies of the Supreme Council, based on appeals of economic entities, made a proposal to establish for officials of state control agency additional responsibility for making regulations, subsequently recognized by the court illegal. The proposed mechanism is simple: in such situations, an amount equal to the court fee and the costs of the proceedings shall be compensated at the expense of the inspection agency. It was proposed to make appropriate changes to the law "On the Procedure for conducting inspections in the implementation of state control (supervision)."

Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance and prosecutors opposed the initiative of deputies.

Deputies insisted that, firstly, the responsibility should be straight, and secondly, the principle of punishment by imposing a fine has repeatedly proved its effectiveness.

The solution to the problem is postponed, but not indefinitely. Collaborative work is in prospect.
