The Volunteers Honoring

Dedicated to Volunteer Day the round table was held at the Ministry of Education of Pridnestrovie, according to the website of the Obnovlenie Republican Party. The date of the 5th of December appeared in the Pridnestrovian calendar of holidays as Volunteer Day after the Presidential Decree of July 6, 2021.

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council, Chairman of the Obnovlenie Republican Party Galina Antyufeeva took part in the work of the round table. The vice-speaker initiated the of the "We are near" volunteer headquarters under the youth wing of the Obnovlenie party creation in 2018. Subsequently, the headquarters grew into a full-fledged volunteer organization that actively helped Pridnestrovians during the coronavirus pandemic. The work of the republic's volunteer movements and successful volunteer practices were discussed in the course of the meeting. Minister of Education Svetlana Ivanishina noted that volunteering has become an integral part of the life of society, culture, and an indicator of its maturity. Those who help people with disabilities, poor, lonely old people, care for animals, preserve nature, help organize mass events, are an example of how responsiveness and humanity can change the world for the better, the minister noted.

Activists of the "Youth Renewal" Republican Party and volunteers of the "We are near" headquarters carry out other volunteer work: they help the elderly register for an electronic queue to exchange Russian foreign passports, support refugees, make portraits of front-line soldiers to participate in the "Immortal Regiment" campaign. Young people organize children's parties in orphanages and special schools, help animal shelters. Environmental campaigns and cleanup days for recreation areas near the Dniester have become permanent. The vice-speaker thanked all the volunteers of the republic for their work for the benefit of society, calling them true heroes. Galina Antyufeeva was awarded a badge for the development of volunteerism. Other heads of volunteer projects received this award. Active volunteers were awarded certificates and diplomas.

Acting head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Moldova Artem Naumenkov noted that volunteerism is a natural process in Pridnestrovie, since kind, generous, sincere people live here.

Volunteer activity in the republic is receiving a new impetus on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, noted the head of the Coordinating Council for the Development of the Volunteer Movement in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexey Tsurkan. This is expressed in helping war veterans, caring for military graves, conducting search work and historical research.
