The honest conversation with defenders of the republic

28.05.2018

The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky held a traditional meeting in the House of official receptions with members of the Republican Union of Defenders of Pridnestrovie. At the round table, those who rose to defend their homeland from the armed aggression of Moldova in 1992, as well as representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government. The Supreme Council was represented by its chairman Alexander Shcherba.

The introductory speech of the head of the republic this time was very short so that the defenders of Pridnestrovie could ask as many questions as possible. Almost all of them asked the head of one of the most massive and influential public organizations of the republic, Deputy Chairman of the Tiraspol City Council Vladimir Buchka. First of all, the representatives of all those who rose to protect Pridnestrovie in 1992, and their more than 14 thousand people, were interested in the position of our state on the ongoing negotiation process, its achievements and difficulties. Vadim Krasnoselsky began honest and open dialogue with the defenders with an answer to this question.

Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke in detail about the agreements reached in the last few months with neighboring Moldova. This is the opening of a bridge; apostilization of PSU diplomas, giving the right to our graduates to work outside the country; the introduction of neutral license plates for Pridnestrovian vehicles, whose owners want to move through the territory of Ukraine, countries of near and far abroad, and other agreements aimed at solving numerous problems of ordinary citizens.

A special concern of the defenders of the republic, which they expressed during the conversation with the President, is the presence on the territory of Ukraine of joint Moldovan-Ukrainian border and customs posts, as well as the desire of the leadership of the Republic of Moldova to withdraw Russian troops from the territory of Pridnestrovie.

In this regard, the head of state expressed the opinion on the need to send on behalf of the Republican Union of Defenders of Pridnestrovie to Russia a request to keep the Russian peacekeepers and servicemen of the OGRV in the republic.

They spoke within the framework of the meeting and about legislative processes. Vadim Krasnoselsky urged public organizations and parliament to cooperate in the development and adoption of legislations that supplement the legal framework of the republic.

Supporting the unfolding discussion, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba said that the head of the Union of Defenders of Pridnestrovie, Vladimir Buchka, is also one of the deputy chairmen of the city council, and this representative body of local authorities has the right to initiate the adoption of any legislation.

The speaker of the parliament asked the participants of the meeting to take into account the opinion of the public and concerning the law-in-draft currently under consideration in the parliament, which broadens the benefits for the PMR defenders. On the initiative of the deputies from Rybnitsa district Andrei Safonov and Vadim Kravchuk, who was born on the basis of a request from the local branch of the union of defenders of Pridnestrovie, they are supposed to provide them with free travel to the place of scheduled examination and treatment in the republican hospital for invalids of war located in Tiraspol.

The remaining questions of the defenders already concerned the practical implementation of laws in the sphere of social security in Pridnestrovie, payment of pensions and additional benefits, treatment, provision, gasification, and repair of housing for this category of citizens.
