19.06.2022

Hundreds of Pridnestrovians took part in the “Road of Memory” mass event in Bendery, many came from other cities of the republic to carry portraits of their dead relatives and comrades. The families of the defenders came on the Day of the Bendery tragedy and to the Borisov cemetery.

A participant in the events of 1992 Sergei Gushan marched in the same column with the Bendery people, holding a portrait of Alexander Mirsha in his hands.

Hundreds of names of the defenders of Pridnestrovie are carved on the arch of the Alley of Heroes at the Borisov cemetery. The memory of the heroes is kept by their families: mothers, widows and children who grew up without fathers. Matvey Gladkov on the Day of the Bendery tragedy comes to the grave of his father Yuri Gladkov. The memorial plate keeps the memory of six Bendery residents who died in a burned-out infantry fighting vehicle on June 22, 1992.

Aleksey Meltsov was reburied at the Alley of Heroes. When the armed aggression of Moldova against Pridnestrovie began, he came as a volunteer from Leningrad. He fought in the territorial rescue squad.

People of exceptional courage, fearlessness and courage are resting at the Alley of Heroes. Their feat was spoken about today at all events, including during the mourning event at the Borisov cemetery. Risking their lives, they committed acts in the name of saving the lives of civilians, for the right to be free and speak their native language.
