The new composition of the youth parliament of Pridnestrovie was formed in 2016 on the initiative of deputies of the Supreme Council of the sixth convocation. As well as the deliberative meeting of the first Pridnestrovian deputies, it acts as an advisory body for the current deputies. In the youth parliament there are 43 seats, which on a competitive basis are occupied by representatives of various youth organizations, 7 committees and 2 commissions.
The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba, heads of parliamentary committees met with young parliamentarians in the framework of the Decade of Youth, which traditionally takes place in the republic from 10 to 20 November.
This is evidenced by the strengthening of cooperation with representatives of the socio-political youth wing of the Russian Federation. The Youth Parliament of Pridnestrovie has its own special representatives at the Youth Parliament of the State Duma. Such an interaction format, in the opinion of the young deputies, will allow for the implementation of joint socially significant projects.
The President began his speech with a historical excursion. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused the attention of representatives of the younger generation on the need to know and understand the prerequisites for the creation of a republic, the formation of its statehood, and convey this knowledge to their peers.
The President shared some figures with the young parliamentarians. Despite all the difficulties, the economy has a positive trend. Over the first 9 months of this year, foreign trade grew by 38%, in particular, exports increased by 45%. There is an increase in tax revenues to the budget, an increase in the profitability of enterprises. In a year and a half, 4.5 thousand jobs were created in the real economy.
The issue of raising the level of salaries and pensions in 2019 was on the list of topics discussed by the President and young deputies. Young parliamentarians were interested in questions about the introduction of the USE on history, forming a state order for young specialists, developing dual education and providing schools with textbooks on the history of Bendery fortress, as well as on the progress of the negotiation process. The President gave open and honest answers to each of the questions posed and targeted the young deputies to further fruitful work.
Drawing attention to the relevance of the topics raised at the platform of the Youth Parliament, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba urged the young deputies to take an active part in the discussion of the draft Development Strategy of the Republic 2019-2026 and form their proposals for the implementation of state youth policy.
The speaker of the parliament wished the young deputies success in realizing their goals.
