Today, Pridnestrovians elect deputies to the Supreme Council, city and regional Councils of People's Deputies, village Councils and heads of administrations of villages and settlements. Elections to the bodies of representative power are held on the same day on the basis of the legislative amendments adopted by the Parliament in 2014. This decision was due to the need to save budget funds. The number of the entire deputy corps of the republic was optimized for this purpose. Now the Supreme Council of the VII convocation will have 33 deputies. In city and regional councils, the number of deputies decreased by 73 people - to 187, 640 deputies will be elected to village councils, 76 seats of chairmen of councils-heads of administrations of villages (settlements).
