March 30 marked the 74th anniversary of the liberation of Rybnitsa from the German-Romanian invaders. Solemn events were held in the city on the occasion of the memorable date. Meetings were held at the memorial sign, Major-General Konstantin Tsvetkov and at the Memorial of Military Glory. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of local authorities, deputies of the Supreme Council of the PMR Yakov Galak, Valentin Matveychuk, Vasily Kunitsky, Andrei Safonov, Vadim Kravchuk, representatives of labor collectives, pupils of schools took part in it.

The townspeople remembered the tragic events of the 1940s. August 5, 1941 Rybnitsa was captured by the German-Romanian army. Three years have been tortured in the ghetto, more than 5,000 civilians have died of starvation, cold and disease. More than 8 thousand fishermen fought against the fascists on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, almost half of them did not return home. Rybnitsa was liberated on March 30, 1944 as a result of the decisive offensive of the 2nd Ukrainian Front - that day the soldiers of the 41st Guards Rifle Division, under the command of Major-General Konstantin Tsvetkov, entered the city.

In the course of the meeting, the city's residents sincerely thanked the veterans for the victory, for the opportunity to live under the peaceful sky. Residents of Rybnitsa paid tribute to the memory of the fallen heroes with a minute of silence, fresh flowers lay down to the Eternal Flame.
