The capital marks one of the most important dates of its history. Soviet troops liberated our land from invaders exactly 75 years ago. Memorable date was dedicated to the requiem meeting, which was held at the Theater Square. The deputies of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva and Viktor Guzun became the participants of the memorable event.
Today it was noted: there is no such family that the Great Patriotic War would not touch. It brought a lot of misery and suffering to our people. The occupation of our region lasted for 970 days and took the lives of 4 thousand residents of Tiraspol. The President Vadim Krasnoselsky called April 12 the second birthday of the capital. The city would have no further glorious history; there would be no Pridnestrovie without this day.
The main participants of the meeting – are veterans of course. Words of gratitude and wishes for good health and longevity were heard today.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov addressed the meeting participants.
Three divisions of the 37th Army, commanded by Lieutenant General Mikhail Sharokhin liberated the city. On the night of April 11-12, the scarlet flag was raised by the 95th regiment fighter M. Mamedov. The events of those heroic days today were recreated by the participants of the city’s creative theater studios. The Victory Banner was again on the theater building.
