On the 24th of December last year, lawmakers after adoption of amendments to the law “On Customs Tariff” extended the possibility of bringing into the republic of cars older than 10 years for another year - until January 1, 2016. Thus, it was assumed that prior to this date the opportunity to import vehicles not older than 10 years will be kept in PMR.

However, the law, adopted by parliamentarians has not entered into force due to the fact that the president vetoed this document and sent it to the Supreme Council for reconsideration. The resulting legal gap caused problems encountered by citizens who at the end of last year imported such cars for personal use into the Republic, as well as those who "bring" the machine to order. Many of them, after customs clearance, have already paid some money, but it was not possible to complete the procedure. They were informed that the import of cars older than 10 years from 1 January 2015 is prohibited.

Aggrieved persons asked for clarification and assistance to the authorities to resolve the ambiguous situation. The first day of the week they came to the building of the Supreme Council and the Government of PMR to do this. The deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on legislation, law enforcement, protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens Gregory Dyachenko exited to communicate with people whose interests were affected.

The people's deputy offered to the audience who were gathered in front of the parliament and the government to present its problems request in fact in a written form to the President and Chairman of the Supreme Council. This was done – there are more than two hundred signatures under the resort document. People, addressing the authorities, asked to listen to their opinion and to extend the application of this legal standard in order to enable them to complete the clearance of vehicles already imported into PMR, as well as to do business, which allows providing their families rather than asking for help from the state.

However, as of today, the President's veto was not withdrawn. In this regard, as Gregory Dyachenko informed journalists of parliamentary press service in the course of the second plenary meeting of the started on 9th session the lawmakers intend to consider the president's justification for the rejection of the Law “On Amendments to the Law “On Customs Tariff” in the course of meetings of committees and then to take appropriate action, which affects the specific needs of people.
