Road Safety: New Measures

Liability for the consumption of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances without a doctor’s prescription will be strengthened. The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic supported the corresponding package of legislations in the second final reading. The punishment for such offenses, in addition to the existing fine (from 1840 to 2760 rubles) or administrative arrest (for up to 15 days), will be a restriction of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of one year. The new measures will affect violators who do not have a driver's license.

The corresponding changes and additions developed by the Prosecutor of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic were recorded in the law “On Road Traffic Safety” and in the Code of Administrative Offenses. The new measures will come into force 14 days after signing by the President and official publication.
