Foundation of the city children's Central Library Slobodzeya has about 30 thousand books. Today, that number has replenished by 80 units. That's the number of copies of books was transferred by “The Russky Mir” Foundation. According to the director of the central city library Catherine Malanyuk, the corner of the Russian world was opened here in 2009, after which the bookshelves were annually filled with contemporary literature.
The deputy of the Supreme Council of the Slobodzeya region Sergey Cheban knows firsthand about the needs of local libraries. The budget deficit does not allow the funds to replenish books of modern literature. Russia gives helping hand in the acquisition of books. This, says the Deputy, promotes cooperation not only with “The Russky Mir” Foundation, but also with Rossotrudnichestvo.
Important for Slobodzeya library event was the occasion to gather loyal readers - students. The guys showed the skill of poems reading, remembered fairy tale characters, and responded to themed riddles.
