July 29, 1992, Pridnestrovians with tears of joy met Russian peacekeepers. The war ended. Today, Pridnestrovie celebrates the 25th anniversary of one of the most successful peacekeeping operations. The day of the introduction of peacekeeping forces in our republic, solemn events are held in Bendery. The State Duma deputy Artem Turov and member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Mikhail Kozlov, who, despite the actions of the Moldovan authorities, managed to arrive in the republic, are among the guests of honor. The Russian ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova, Farit Mukhametshin, also came to congratulate the peacekeepers and residents of Pridnestrovie.
Together with President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva, representatives of state authorities, citizens, the guests of honor laid flowers to the monuments of peacekeepers and to General Alexander Lebed, Eternal Flame.
The solemn meeting was held on the territory of the military part of the joint peacekeeping forces. Farit Mukhametshin expressed his gratitude to the peacekeepers, the representatives of the Joint Control Commission and the Joint Command of the joint peacekeeping forces for the maintenance of peace in the security zone.
A tour in the territory of the military unit was conducted for honorary guests, where an exhibition of military equipment, weapons, field kitchens was organized. The officials laid flowers to the monument to the joint peacekeeping forces, opened two days ago at the building of the JCC.
The President Vadim Krasnoselsky called the actions of the Moldovan side to level the "holiday" date for Pridnestrovian holiday "predictable" and "another unfriendly act". Despite the changes in the program of solemn events, a holiday in Pridnestrovie took place. The Head of State congratulated everyone on the occasion of the jubilee of the peacekeeping mission and thanked the peacekeepers for maintaining peace and stability.
The festive events in Bendery will continue throughout the day. There will be a festive concert in the evening in the main square of the city. The sky will illuminate the jubilee salute in honor of the peacekeepers.
