Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for the electoral districts of the city of Bendery took part in an online meeting, at which the head of the state administration of the city of Bendery reported to the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on work in 2023.

87197 people live in Bendery and the villages of Giska and Protyagailovka belonging to the city. Their interests are represented in the Supreme Council by 6 deputies - Alexander Korshunov, Yuri Kucherenko, Oleg Petrik, Anton Onufrienko, Sergei Pisarenko and Ruslan Gareev.

The results of the city’s development, construction and cultural events, and solutions to problems are presented in numbers and diagrams in the report of the head of the state administration of the city of Bendery Roman Ivanchenko. Local budget revenues in 2023 amounted to 377 million rubles, of which almost 275 million were ownб according to the presented data. Approximately 325 million were spent on the needs of the city, most of which were expenses for socially protected items, as well as for improvement and capital investments.

Roads were repaired in Bendery, finishing and repair work was carried out in sports schools, major repairs were carried out on heating and water supply engineering networks, modernization of kitchen facilities and equipment began in schools and kindergartens, flowers and trees were planted along the roads, in parks and squares, specialists cleaned the streams in 2023.

A large volume of capital construction work in Bendery was carried out using funds from the Republican Capital Investment Fund – in the amount of almost 20 million rubles.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council, deputy for Bendery constituency No. 1 “Solnechny” Alexander Korshunov at the end of the report thanked Roman Ivanchenko for the detailed report and for the constant fruitful interaction of the state administration of the city of Bendery with the deputies of the Supreme and City Councils. The deputy asked several questions based on requests from voters in constituency No. 1. For example, regular water outages in the Solnechny microdistrict. Residents of high-rise buildings complain that they are often left without water supply for several hours or even a day, and ask to resolve the issue of replacing water supply networks.

Alexander Korshunov noted that the water supply and sewerage networks are quite worn out and work to replace them requires additional funding from the republican budget.

Another topic is abandoned buildings and construction sites. A special commission examined 72 residential properties in Bendery and villages in 2023. A decision was made to warn the owners for 46 mismanaged residential premises; the work of the commission was completed for 24 residential premises. Constituency No. 1 has its own “abandoned areas” – this is a huge pit that is located between multi-story buildings and poses a threat to children and others.

Alexander Korshunov spoke about the need to pay more attention to intra-block and intra-yard passages, the need to urgently modernize the collector pumping station, and the possibility of converting the old rural medical outpatient clinic building in Giska into a veterans’ home for single pensioners. Other issues that were relevant to the voters of the district and all Bendery residents were also raised.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky assessed the last year work of the state administration of the city of Bendery as satisfactory, reports the website of the PMR President. Vadim Krasnoselsky directed the leadership of Bendery and officials in general to listen to the opinions of local residents. The President focused on the condition of Bendery roads, stating that, despite the efforts made and investments made, it remains the worst in the republic. Instructions were given to review the principle of distribution of the Road Fund, based not only on the length, but also on the load on the roads. The approach to recording intra-block passages also needs to be changed. Vadim Krasnoselsky also recommended paying more attention to domestic tourism as one of the areas of business activity.
