"In the whirlwind of a waltz"

On the eve of the winter holidays, the traditional New Year's ball “In the Waltz Whirlwind” was held under the patronage of the PMR President. This year it was the third time. To the sounds of a waltz, 70 pairs danced together. Cavaliers are cadets of the Tiraspol Law Institute of the PMR Ministry of Internal Affairs, cadets of the Republican Cadet Corps of the PMR Ministry of Internal Affairs, students of the Tiraspol Suvorov Military School and students of the Military Institute of the PMR Ministry of Defense. Their companions were the pupils of the Aina choreography studio, the Millennium, Prestige and Feeria groups, as well as students of the Medical College of Bendery and the capital’s schoolgirls.

Addressing the participants and guests of the event, the President spoke about the sincerity of the New Year and Christmas holidays. He called to leave in the past that which did not please, and wished everyone to meet the onset of the new, 2020, year with people close and dear to their hearts. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the New Year's ball is a revived wonderful tradition that has become the connecting thread of generations.

According to the Head of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage of Pridnestrovie Maria Kyrmyz, a team of specialists helped the participants prepare for the ball. Rehearsals were held. Maria Kyrmyz noted that everything was prepared with enthusiasm, therefore, as a result, they worked harmoniously, clearly performing all the drawings of the dance.

The first festive defile was held under the polonaise of the Russian classic Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The President and his wife joined the next dance. Together with the ball participants, they danced to the composition of the Soviet composer Georgy Sviridov to the story of Alexander Pushkin's "Blizzard". The most tremulous was the waltz of Eugene Doga from the movie "My Tender Beast". Muslim Magomayev’s repertoire circled at the ball under the Nocturne.

The guests of the ball were the historical figures Peter I and Catherine II. The main New Year characters were Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. They congratulated all the ball participants on the upcoming holiday and wished all the best for the new year.
