Archives - the spirit of the past

31.05.2018

The deputies of the Supreme Council Grigory Dyachenko, Ruslan Gareev, Vadim Kravchuk could feel the spirit of the past epochs, to touch the history of the Motherland in the literal sense of the word. They responded to the invitation of Zinaida Todorashko, the head of the public service for managing records management and archives, to visit the State Central Administration of the PMR and take part in the event called "Night in the Archive". The aim is to familiarize parliamentarians with the documentary heritage of our republic.

The time for the visit was not chosen by chance either. Two reasons are the 100th anniversary of the state archival service and the professional holiday of archivists and documentation management. The President congratulated on the eve Pridnestrovian archivists.

People's deputies who expressed a desire to hold "Night in the Archive" also started a meeting with congratulations addressed to the head of the State Service for Management of Documentation and Archives, Zinaida Todorashko, and in her person and all the keepers of history.

Accepting the congratulations of the deputies of the Supreme Council, Zinaida Todorashko acted as a guide to the past.

The central state archive, whose building was built in the 60's in full accordance with the requirements of Soviet GOSTs, consists of three storage facilities. They always maintain the optimal temperature and humidity regime for document storage. This is extremely important in order to keep history. This is done by only 6 employees, which account for 190 thousand units of storage. Some folders weigh 10 kilograms. All this on the fragile female shoulders.

Financing of archivists comes from rendering paid services to the population. Who has a record of work trying to confirm who the genealogical tree of the family is, let little of what we want to learn from the past, to confirm for the present and the future. All this can be found in the archives, for this they exist. The State Service for Management of Documentation and Archives is not the first time raising the issue of transferring the work of the Central State Archive to budgetary financing. Its specialists also developed a five-year program for the development of archival business in Pridnestrovie. Realization of it is fully restrained by the same budget deficit.

Although most of the documents kept in the State Archives belong to the post-war period, there are real rarities. For example, metric books. The first record was made in 1823. Just think, at this time we had a trip of Pushkin! The guests from the Parliament leafed through the documentary evidence of the born, the married, the deceased with curiosity. Surprised by the state of the remaining plan of Tiraspol in 1932. They are documentary evidence of our common past, tragic and at the same time bright.
