The ceremony of handing cash benefits to labor veterans was held in the capital club "Veteran". Material assistance was provided by the Moscow government in the framework of a permanent program to support compatriots living abroad.
The event on behalf of the Russian Embassy in Moldova was organized by the Chairman of the Union of Russian Communities of Pridnestrovie Viorika Kokhtaryova and the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, the head of the Russian community of Tiraspol, the leader of "The Obnovlenie" (Renewal) Galina Antyufeeva and her assistants.
As noted by Viorika Kokhtareva, the Moscow government has been holding a rally for several years to provide material assistance to compatriots - veterans of war and labor. Last year, such benefits were given to Pridnestrovians in April, this year the event takes place a few months earlier. According to the chairman of the Union of Russian Communities, 400 people will receive material assistance throughout Pridnestrovie, including 85 in Tiraspol. The amount of the allowance is 1,400 rubles PMR.
