The Supreme Council considered five submissions of the Prosecutor of the republic regarding illegal actions committed by Evgeny Shevchuk as President of PMR. Anatoly Guretsky informed the deputy corps about five criminal cases opened by the Investigative Committee, where the former head of state is the main figure. According to the Law, it is possible to carry out investigative measures and bring to justice a person who enjoys immunity, including the former head of state, with the permission of the supreme representative body of power. Today, at a plenary meeting, the Supreme Council voted in favor of depriving Yevgeny Shevchuk of his immunity by a qualified majority.
