Alexander Shcherba, “The right needs protection”

Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba, colleagues in the deputy corps Ilona Tyuryaeva, Igor Buga, Petr Pasat, Alexander Korshunov, Sergey Cheban, Sergey Pisarenko took part in the solemn ceremony of consecration and presentation of the banner of the Republican cadet corps of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of PMR named after G. A. Potemkin-Tavrichesky. The first President of the PMR, chairman of the board of trustees of the school, Igor Smirnov, ministers of internal affairs and education Ruslan Mova and Tatiana Loginova are also invited. Last year, in accordance with a presidential decree, the cadet boarding school was renamed in the cadet corps.

The date of the ceremony was not chosen by chance, as the Lyceum Day it is celebrated on October 19 every year. It began with a general performance of the national anthem, the removal of the banner. The highlight of the solemn event was the ritual of sticking a banner to a wooden pole. This was done alternately by Parliament Speaker Alexander Shcherba, Interior Minister Ruslan Mova and the first President of the Republic Igor Smirnov. The order of filling the banner and giving it to the cadets is based on the historical traditions of the Russian Imperial Army.

The flag was shown in spectacular and colorful so that all the participants of the solemn ceremony could see it.Following the established tradition, Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary conducted the ceremony of consecration of the banner of the cadet corps. The Minister of the Interior gave it to the head of the cadet corps. From now, the banner will be kept in the museum of the Bendery police, which is located here.

With a welcoming speech to the cadets, their parents and teachers, the guests of honor were addressed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Alexander Shcherba.

Alexander Shcherba emphasized that today the thoughts of all Pridnestrovians are directed towards the future.

Congratulating the cadets on a significant event, the Chairman of the Supreme Council on behalf of the deputies handed the pupils an acoustic center.

Speaking with congratulations, the head of the board of trustees of the corps Igor Smirnov noted that the institution received material assistance in the amount of more than 100 thousand rubles. Speaking to young cadets, the first president of Pridnestrovie Igor Smirnov cited the example of a shot-out banner over Bendery City Council in the summer of 1992.

At the end of the solemn ceremony, the honored guests visited the museum, the classrooms and the dormitory building, the sports hall, got acquainted with the educational process, the living conditions in which future law enforcement officers live and study.
