Alexander Shcherba congratulated Pridnestrovians on the 74th anniversary of the liberation of cities from German-Romanian invaders

12.04.2018

Dear veterans of the Great Patriotic War and workers of the rear!

Dear residents of Tiraspol!

On behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and me personally, I congratulate you on the liberation of the city of Tiraspol from the German-Romanian invaders!

Soldiers of the Soviet army entered Tiraspol in April 12, 1944, putting an end to the 970-day occupation. Tens of years have passed since then, but the memory of the great feat does not fade. The day of the liberation of the city for us is a sacred date, a symbol of pride and glory, courage, unity and cohesion of the people.

This day, I express my sincere gratitude to the older generation. Those, who with weapons in their hands defended Motherland and were ready to give their lives for freedom. Thanks to our veterans, the history of the terrible war is alive in our memory. After all, no one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten.

Dear veterans! This memorable day, we bow to your courage and express our sincere gratitude for your invaluable feat! You will always be for us an example of selfless love and devotion to people and the Fatherland.

I wish everyone health, care and love, a peaceful sky, happiness and prosperity!

Eternal memory to soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of the city! A low bow to the living now, each of which is our special treasure!
