The plenary session of the Supreme Council was opened to the sounds of the national anthem. The legislature of the republic celebrates the 28th anniversary of the formation. The first meeting of the provisional Supreme Council of the PMSSR was held on November 29, 1990. Igor Nikolaevich Smirnov was elected its first chairman. Within a few weeks, according to the results of the elections, the first convocation of the Pridnestrovian parliament was formed. On the occasion of the holiday date, the current speaker Alexander Shcherba addressed the deputies of the sixth convocation.
Deputies of the Supreme Council were congratulated by the President of the Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky. The head of state in the welcoming address noted the significant role of the deputies in the creation and formation of Pridnestrovian statehood.
In connection with the landmark date, a number of deputies and members of the staff of the parliament were awarded letters of thanks and state awards. The plenary session continued in working mode. Parliamentarians reviewed and adopted more than ten legislations.
