Pridnestrovians lit a Candle of Memory today, June 22, at 4 o'clock in the morning in all cities of the republic. The republican mass event was timed to coincide with the 77th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

The early morning at the city's Memorial of Glory in Rybnitsa was painted with light of lighted lamps, which people of different generations, representatives of the authorities, the public and youth carried with them. Many townspeople came with their children. The well-known message of Yuri Levitan, sounded over the sleeping city, turned the people's memory to the distant pre-war dawn.

Together with the residents of Rybnitsa, Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba and deputies of the Supreme Council took part in the action.

The memory of the deceased soldiers who heroically met the fascist aggression in June 1941, all those who killed the enemy at the cost of their lives, liberated their native land and brought the Great Victory to a close, a minute of silence. To eternal fire laid flowers.

Following the memorial, the parliamentarians together with the citizens visited other memorable places in Rybnitsa: a monument to the victims of the fascist ghetto and the grave of an unknown soldier in the city cemetery. The granite slabs were laid with fresh flowers.

Parliamentarians in a memorable day for all the people wished Pridnestrovians peace and a clear sky above their heads.
