A solemn plenary meeting of the faculty was held in the main scientific center of the country - Pridnestrovian State University. It was dedicated to the Day of Science celebrated today. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, head of the parliamentary committee on education, science and culture Mikhail Burla took part in its work. Among the honored guests there are also representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Government, ministries and departments, research centers. The professional holiday of scientists was established in Pridnestrovie in 2001.
The meeting was opened by the rector of PSU, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Stepan Beril. He began with congratulations to colleagues, as well as a story about the scientific potential of alma mater. Currently, the university is preparing 86 graduate students and applicants in 25 departments in 14 areas. 35 specialists work on doctoral theses. The staff of the Perm State University defended about three hundred candidate and doctoral theses for the period from 1992 to 2018.

Scientists were congratulated on behalf of the President of Pridnestrovie by State Counselor Anna Volkova, who called those sitting in the hall “real devotees of science”.
Vadim Krasnoselsky in his message thanked the representatives of the scientific community for their dedication, constant creative search, readiness to work with maximum dedication.
The congratulations baton from the President was received by the head of the legislative branch of power.
The speaker thanked Pridnestrovian scientists for their work and scientific achievements, wished them creative insights, success in the implementation of plans and perseverance in the implementation of the most ambitious projects.
Alexander Korshunov informed the meeting participants that at present, the deputies of the Supreme Council are considering the development program of PSU, whose points will be thoroughly studied and analyzed by the elected representatives of the people.
The speaker in his speech to the representatives of the scientific community drew particular attention to the issue of science financing, believing that it should be carried out not by a residual, but by a target principle.
It is noteworthy that the highest legislature of the republic has a considerable scientific potential. It should be said that Oleg Bayev, a candidate of geographical sciences, an associate professor, two-time laureate of the state prize in science and technology Mikhail Burla, and candidates of law Alexander Shcherba, pedagogical sciences Galina Antyufeyeva, economic sciences Victor Guzun.
