Alexander Korshunov, "The events of 1992 are evidence that it is impossible to suppress the will of the Pridnestrovian people by force of arms"

August 1 in Pridnestrovie is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. Residents of the republic remember those who defended the PMR and died in the fighting in 1992. More than 800 Pridnestrovians were killed as a result of the military aggression of Moldova 28 years ago. Commemorative events at the Glory Memorial due to the quarantine took place this year without large crowds. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, representatives of the ministries of the republic on behalf of the Pridnestrovian people laid flowers to the Eternal Flame, stone slabs of graves and the foot of monuments.

Today the Parliament Speaker addressed the Pridnestrovians and defenders of Pridnestrovie. According to Alexander Korshunov, the events of 1992is a vivid evidence that it is impossible to suppress the will of the Pridnestrovian people by force of arms.

On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance, residents of the republic can lay flowers at burial of the defenders or light a candle at home and in the family circle remember the heroes who died for the independence of Pridnestrovie.
