The Supreme Council held a meeting of the Advisory Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies dedicated to the potential gas crisis. The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov and the Chairman of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Rosenberg took part in the discussion.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Advisory Assembly, the First President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Igor Smirnov congratulated the veterans of parliamentarism on Constitution Day. The draft of the current Constitution was developed in 1995 by the Constitutional Commission, which included deputies of the Supreme Council of the first convocation. The national referendum on the adoption of the Constitution was held on December 24, 1995, simultaneously with the elections of deputies of the second convocation. The speaker of the Pridnestrovian parliament Alexander Korshunov congratulated the founders of the republic on one of the most important state holidays.
Today's meeting of the Advisory Assembly was planned to be devoted to summing up the results of 2024. However, as expected, the main topic for discussion was a possible gas crisis in Pridnestrovie.
The speaker of the parliament noted that today all officials and heads of enterprises understand that it will not be easy. A number of unpopular political decisions will have to be made in the current situation.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council noted that the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the mode of legislative necessity sent to the parliament a draft of the new law "On state measures aimed at minimizing the negative impact of the reduction (termination) of natural gas supplies to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". The legislative initiative provides for a number of support measures for the population and enterprises during the state of emergency in the economy. The Supreme Council will consider the law-in-draft before the end of the year.
The Chairman of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic told the first Pridnestrovian deputies about the current state of affairs in the republic. Alexander Rosenberg also spoke about how the republic will live if natural gas supplies to Pridnestrovie cease on January 1, 2025. Veterans of Pridnestrovian parliamentarism asked the heads of the legislative and executive authorities questions about the organization of the work of operational headquarters in the cities and districts of the republic, providing the population with firewood, and the work of the call center on emergency issues in the economy. They expressed their proposals. They will be sent to the authorities in the near future.
