Dear Pridnestrovians and
defenders of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic!
Today we honor the memory of those who 27 years ago rose up in defense of their land, their home and their loved ones, repelling the armed aggression of the Moldovan nationalists.
In late July 1992, with the entering of peacekeeping forces in Bendery, the bloodshed on the banks of the Dniester ceased.
August 1, 1992 was the first day without shots. Time keeps us more and more away from the events of 1992, but the farther into history these years are, more fully and vividly the greatness of the heroic feat of the people of Pridnestrovie, who bravely defended the independence of their homeland in the bitter struggle against the Moldovan nationalists, is manifested.
Our duty is to keep the memory of this feat, respect for perseverance, courage, selfless love for our Fatherland and pass it on to next generations.
Eternal memory to the fallen! Glory to the heroes alive!
Chairman of the Supreme Council
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
