Dear defenders of the republic, Pridnestrovians!

32 years have passed since the very moment when Moldovan nationalists invaded the territory of Pridnestrovie, marking the beginning of Moldova’s military aggression. Those tragic and bloody pictures still live in our memory, that heroic feat of our defenders, who defended their native land with their breasts, winning for us our peaceful and happy future.

The RM leadership launched a war against Pridnestrovie on March 2, 1992. The Moldavian aggressors tried to suppress the freedom-loving people by force, but they failed to break the young republic. Everyone, young and old, rose up to defend their state, everyone rallied: guardsmen, militias, Cossacks and simply citizens who care for the fate of their Motherland.

We showed the entire community, the world, that it is impossible to suppress the power of the people by armed means in those mournful days. Pridnestrovians showed incredible courage and unity, defending their right to speak their native language and live freely in their native land in this war.

I would like to especially note the contribution of Russian peacekeepers who helped stop this bloody massacre, and this peacekeeping mission is a guarantor of stability and peace on both banks of the Dniester today.

We are proud and highly appreciate the courage and patriotism of the defenders of Pridnestrovie. The younger generation will always follow their example, and their feat will live forever in our hearts.
