Dear Pridnestrovians!
30 years have passed since the invasion of the Moldovan nationalists and the beginning of the military aggression of Moldova. These days will remain in the memory of Pridnestrovians for a long time, they are watered with the blood of our fathers and grandfathers.
On March 2, 1992, the leadership of Moldova unleashed a war against Pridnestrovie. The people of Dubossary were the first to bear the brunt, standing in the way of the militant nationalists. Detachments of the Moldovan special police, with the support of volunteers and units of the national army, tried three times to seize administrative buildings and key facilities, but the Pridnestrovian guardsmen, Cossacks, militias and ordinary citizens thwarted the plan of the Moldovan aggressors who were trying to break the young republic and suppress by force the resistance of the friendly, brave and multinational people of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
This war showed that it is impossible to suppress the will of the people by force of arms. We defended the right to live freely on our land and speak our native language.
The contribution made by Russian peacekeepers is truly invaluable, thanks to them it was possible to stop the fratricidal war, and to this day they are a reliable guarantor of peace and stability on both banks of the Dniester.
We are proud and highly appreciate the heroism and courage of the defenders of Pridnestrovie. Their self-sacrifice serves as an example for the younger generation. Their deed will live forever in our hearts.
Chairman of the Supreme Council
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
