Alexander Korshunov, “Every recovery from COVID-19 is a victory for everybody!”

“Let's build a fairer, healthier world,” urges the World Health Organization on World Health Day. The WHO notes that the pandemic of the new coronavirus has shown the existing inequality in the world in terms of people's access to quality health care.

Today, the World Health Organization calls on the leaders of all countries on the planet to make sure that all their citizens have equal access to health care and the opportunity to lead a healthy lifestyle.

The Government bodies - the President, the Supreme Council and the Government in Pridnestrovie – promptly react to the situation. This was clearly shown in 2020. When it was necessary to urgently look for funds for measures to counter the pandemic, the items of expenditures and revenues of the state budget were revised, some were cut, and the money was redirected to the fight against COVID-19: the opening of hospitals, the purchase of medicines, food, protective equipment and premiums to doctors.

Residents of any settlement of Pridnestrovie have access to medical care. Free help and treatment is provided by therapists, emergency doctors, doctors of coronavirus hospitals. Laboratory tests for the sick are also carried out in our republic at the expense of the state.

The dedication of doctors around the planet in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is called upon by the World Health Organization. The WHO declared 2021 the Year of the Medical and Social Worker.
