Alexander Korshunov, “The stronger economy is, the closer we are to recognition”

14.09.2015

"We're talking about the recognition of our state. I am sure that no one can give an exact date when this will happen. But this is not necessary for our people. People have recognized the republic. De facto, it was formed in 1990. We know that the state is based on the economy. The stronger economy is, the closer we are to recognition.

Today, I would divide the economy problems solution into two large blocks. First block - the solution of problems of anti-crisis (this is what we need to do today, and now urgently). The second block - a planned development of our state in the medium term. As for the anti-crisis measures that have to do now. The main thing - is to keep production jobs, to make every effort to keep these crisis conditions the whole of our productive capacity. The second thing to do - is to reconsider the policy of public expenditure, to optimize them. This requires that public expenditure and revenue are transparent to all our people understand how much we earn, how much is spent and in what directions money is spent.

As part of the medium-term prospects, first of all we need a program of development of our state and if not for a long period, at least for the medium term - 3-5 years. This program should be developed in cooperation with our strategic partner - the Russian Federation. It is necessary to consider options for cooperation with Russia and the members of the Eurasian Union. We need a program of import substitution, export program and the program of development of production and services that are not tied to customs procedures".
