Alexander Korshunov, "April 12 is a great page in our history"

Dear Pridnestrovians, dear residents of Tiraspol!

I congratulate you on behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and myself on the 79th anniversary from the German-Romanian invaders of the liberation of the capital of our state, the city of Tiraspol!

The 12th of April is a special day for the city of Tiraspol, this is a great page in our history, pride and glory.

The years of military hard times go further and further into history. The courage of the soldiers who liberated the city in the spring days of April 1944 will never be erased from memory. We express our deep gratitude to the veterans for the tremendous work done to restore the city of Tiraspol, for the great military-patriotic and educational work that you are now doing among the young citizens of our republic.

The task of both adults and the younger generation – is to remember that as long as the memory is alive, these people and their exploits that they accomplished for our bright and peaceful future are alive.

I wish happiness, prosperity and good health to all the veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War, the liberators of the city, all Pridnestrovians on the day of the glorious anniversary of the liberation of Tiraspol!
