A. Korshunov, “Only together we can achieve goals”

The Supreme Council will be headed by Alexander Korshunov. The candidacy was proposed by the vice-speaker Galina Antyufeyeva. Earlier, the deputy headed the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance.

“Alexander Korshunov is able to consolidate people around him. He will be able to unite us all to realize the tasks that our voters have set for us. The main thing is to improve the life and well-being of our citizens”, said Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva in an interview with reporters.

Deputies in an open vote supported the proposal unanimously. Coming to the podium, the newly elected speaker of the parliament turned to the deputy corps. He thanked his colleagues for their confidence and outlined the priority tasks of the parliament.

“Today, the foreign policy situation and domestic economic conditions are not simple. The more relevant is the situation of the state’s development strategy approved by the President Vadim Krasnoselsky The tasks have been defined so that the economic potential of our republic grows and the well-being of our citizens increases. We must make informed and correct management decisions to do this. I consider an important message the consolidation of all the organs of state power and administration, the organs of local self-government and civil society. Only by joint efforts we will be able to solve the tasks, to achieve the goals. I am convinced that the Supreme Council remains the basic platform for the development of constructive state decisions”, said Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov.

At the end of the plenary session, the deputies made another important personnel decision. Oleg Vasilaty will be the head of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance. The deputy held this position until 2015. Then he led the Regional Policy Committee.
