15.02.2018

The exposition of author's works of the veteran of war in Afghanistan, defender of Pridnestrovie Sergey Goryulyov was opened in the memorial house-museum of academician Zelinsky. The name of the exhibition "My Afghan" united two dozen works of art: portraits, sculpture, interior items. All of them are the embodiment of feelings, images of the memory of an Afghan soldier about what war was for him. The author's works tell about the value of peace, goodness, love of the Motherland and responsibility for its fate.

Sergei Gorulev since childhood, was fond of art, attended art school. He was drafted into the army in 1986, sent to Afghanistan. But even after going through the roads of a fierce war, faced with death face to face, the artist kept faith in the good and humanity.

The most important thing that left the war in Sergei Goryulev's soul was the feeling of fighting brotherhood. Whichever distances they share, soldiers always support each other, help in solving problems, congratulate on holidays. The artist says: if there was no Afgan, he would not become who he is.

Sergey Gorulev currently is working on creating exhibits for the future museum of internationalist soldiers with the support of the republic's leadership, the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, the Tiraspol United Museum. The basis for it will be the works presented in the exposition.

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba, parliamentarians became the first visitors to the exhibition. In conversation with the artist, they noted the importance of his work for the young generation to understand the history of the Afghan war.
