Adaptive quarantine in Pridnestrovie has been extended for another three months, until the 30th of June. The law-in-draft amends a number of laws that enshrine mechanisms aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection caused by the COVID-19 virus infection in the territory of Pridnestrovie, the validity of which was determined until the 31st of March, 2022 (inclusive). These are wearing masks in public places (indoors), fines for intentionally infecting other people with new type of coronavirus, determining measures and opportunities for hospitalization and treatment of patients, and maintaining social distance.
The deputies in the course of the discussion of the law-in-draft asked why quarantine is being extended in Pridnestrovie against the background of other countries that are lifting quarantine restrictions (Russia, Moldova, Romania, etc.). The situation was explained by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov continued the topic, noting that the media have been reporting a sharp outbreak of COVID-19 in China and South Korea in recent days.
The Supreme Council at the plenary session supported the legislative initiative of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky to extend the adaptive quarantine until June 30. The document was adopted in two readings at once.
