The results of the Ministry of Internal Affairs work: the fight against pandemic and crime

The final meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was attended by PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, representatives of ministries and departments. The Minister of Internal Affairs Ruslan Mova informed participants of the Collegium about the conditions in which the work of the ministry took place last year.

Systematic work was organized in the spring of last year to counter the threat. The Operational Headquarters was established. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was instructed to carry out the entire range of measures to combat COVID-19.

The Minister of Internal Affairs noted that militia in 2020 achieved a reduction in the crime rate along with performing unusual tasks, by the end of the year - by almost 4%. 3388 crimes were registered totally. This is the lowest rate in the last 18 years. The overall crime detection rate last year exceeded 91%. The number of especially grave crimes has almost halved and the number of grave crimes by 13%. The number of crimes in the sphere of combating drug trafficking has significantly decreased, there are fewer large-scale thefts, grievous bodily harm and robberies. According to Ruslan Mova, the measures taken last year helped to improve the crime situation in the republic.

The first President of the PMR Igor Smirnov addressed the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the personnel of the Ministry.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky summed up the work of the internal affairs bodies in 2020. The President emphasized that the criterion for citizens' assessment of the activities of state power and administration bodies does not depend on the factor of recognition or non-recognition of the state.

The President focused on the practice of splitting incomes from functioning of the Safe City system, and on the fact that more attention should be paid to fire safety.

The load on the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was colossal according to the PMR President last year. Everything was done from scratch, but there was no panic, there was no negative mood. This was the basis for the right decisions, which in turn influenced the course of the fight against the pandemic and the stabilization of the situation.
