Dear residents of Rybnitsa
I congratulate you on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Rybnitsa from the German-Romanian invaders on behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Republic and on my own behalf!
80 years have passed since the valiant Soviet troops, represented by the 41st Infantry Guards Division, liberated Rybnitsa. The division was commanded by Major General Konstantin Nikolaevich Tsvetkov, and a memorial sign was built in his honor in Rybnitsa as a tribute to the historical memory of the immortal feat of the defenders of the Fatherland and military valor.
Hostilities began in Rybnitsa on June 23, 1941, and on August 5 the entire city was occupied by the troops of the Romanian fascist invaders. About three thousand people died during the occupation according to the most conservative estimates. Residents of Rybnitsa did not submit to the fascist regime and fought to the last despite the huge losses.
We sacredly honor today the memory of our grandfathers and fathers who gave their lives for a peaceful and bright future, we are grateful to the home front workers, the post-war generation, those who revived this city from the ruins, which is the pride of our republic.
There are fewer and fewer veterans, eyewitnesses and participants in those bloody events. Every veteran is our asset, our pride, and we will never allow anyone to distort the historical truth.
The feat of the liberating soldiers is immortal and will live forever in the hearts of noble descendants. Eternal flame burns on the Memorial of Glory as a symbol of the unfading memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of the Motherland.
Eternal memory to the dead!
Eternal glory to the liberating warriors!
Chairman of the Supreme Council
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
