The Great Patriotic War began 80 years ago

22.06.2021

Dear Pridnestrovians!

Dear veterans!

Today we celebrate one of the most mournful and tragic dates in our history. The Great Patriotic War began exactly 80 years ago, on June 22, 1941.

It brought a lot of misfortune and suffering to the people, taking tens of millions of lives and leaving behind ruined cities and villages, orphaned families, millions of homeless children, broken destinies. There is not a single family that was not touched by the Great Patriotic War, not a single house in which they did not keep the bright memory of relatives who did not return from the cruel battlefields.

The date of June 22, 1941 will forever remain in the memory of people not only as a tragic day, filled with grief, the beginning of bloody and merciless war, but also as an example of manifestation of courage, fortitude, dedication and fearlessness.

May this day remind everyone how important to keep the peace, which our ancestors so hard inherited. Low bow to the veterans – war veterans and home front workers, all who survived that terrible day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, walked hard roads to Victory in the name of life, peace and good!

Eternal memory to the soldiers who died in that war, and to all respected veterans of the Great Patriotic War, widows of soldiers and officers, home front workers and children of the war - long years of life, care and attention of loved ones.

Peaceful sky, prosperity and health to all Pridnestrovians!

of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
