77 years of the Jassy-Kishinev operation

Dear veterans, dear Pridnestrovians!

These days, Pridnestrovie marks an important historical date – 77 years since the start of the Jassy-Kishinev operation.

This operation went down in the history of military art as the "Jassy-Kishinev Cannes" - the offensive operation of the 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian fronts, together with the Black Sea Fleet, was organized to destroy the German Army Group South Ukraine and liberate Moldova. As a result of the successful operation, the Soviet troops after fierce battles liberated Moldova and pulled out of the war Romania, which fought on the side of Nazi Germany.

These events will remain in our memory as a symbol of courage, heroic patriotism, immeasurable love for our homeland, readiness to give our lives for the sake of peaceful and bright future. We will cherish the memory of the feat of our fathers and grandfathers who defended the Motherland, and we will tenderly pass on this truth to the younger generations. The country must know and remember its heroes.

We bow our heads to the feat of the Soviet people, who at the cost of their own lives defended the right to live freely on their land. I express my deep gratitude to our esteemed veterans, participants of the Great Patriotic War for their courage and selfless service to the Motherland!
