Rowing school of Dubossary is 65

A ceremonial meeting dedicated to the anniversary of the children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve of rowing and cycling was held in Dubossary. The leaders of the city and district, deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Boris German and Oleg Bayev, colleagues and friends congratulated the school staff on the 65th anniversary.

The rowing school of the city of Dubossary has glorious traditions and is proud of its students – Olympic champions, world champions, European champions, international, republican, city and regional competitions.

Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for Dubossary districts Number 10 “Northern” and Number 11 “Central” Oleg Bayev and Boris German are always in touch with the team of the rowing and cycling school.

The deputy addressed special congratulations to the elder of rowing Albina Sevryuk, who stood at the origins of the development of this sport in Dubossary district.

Deputies of the Supreme Council Boris German and Oleg Bayev presented the school with a certificate for the purchase of a double kayak for its anniversary.

The construction of a rowing base of republican significance in the city of Dubossary began in 1957. The rowing school of Dubossary became the center of rowing in the MSSR and the venue for competitions at the republican, all-Union and international levels a year later. The school has produced champions of the republican and world level over the years, including world champion Dmitry Matveev and two-time Olympic champion Yuri Filatov thanks to talented coaches. Rowing has become a school of courage, endurance and sports honor for thousands of children.
