The 615th anniversary of one of the oldest cities in Pridnestrovie

Celebrations dedicated to the 615th anniversary of the first chronicle mention of the city began in Bendery. The holiday in Bendery will last several days and will a8th of October.

Celebrating the city's anniversary in Bendery began on Friday. Motor-road was started along Sovetskaya Street after reconstruction on October 6. According to the stories of Bendery residents, the need to tidy up the section of the street in the very center of the city arose a long time ago. There have been fewer and fewer parking spaces on Sovetskaya Street in recent years, while the city is growing and there are more and more people with personal vehicles.

There is a large parking lot with almost 150 spaces and a new recreation area for citizens with widened sidewalks, comfortable benches and comfortable lighting now. An area of more than 5 thousand square meters was paved with tiles. The reconstruction of Sovetskaya Street was a continuation of a large project to transform the historical center of Bendery.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky with his wife, and Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the Government Alexander Rosenberg, Head of the Bendery State Administration Roman Ivanchenko and Chairman of the Bendery City Council Yuri Kara arrived at the grand opening of the street.

The honorable right to be the first to drive along the updated section of the street was given to the younger generation of Bendery residents.

The republic's leaders visited the renovated embankment and Oktyabrsky Park. A rotunda, gazebos, pergolas, and swing benches appeared in the favorite place of Bendery residents.

There will be massive festive events dedicated to the 615th anniversary of the first chronicle mention of the city of Bendery on Saturday, October 7. The program includes thematic locations and master classes, a flower exhibition, a festival of folk cultures and farmsteads, a festive concert and fireworks.

The next location in the program of festive events was the Palace of Culture named after Tkachenko, where a ceremonial meeting was held dedicated to the 615th anniversary of the first chronicle mention of Bendery.

The guests of honor were told about the history of the formation and development of the city with the help of a laser show and a film specially prepared for Bender’s anniversary. The city leadership – the head of the state administration Roman Ivanchenko and the chairman of the city Council of People's Deputies Yuri Kara – addressed the residents of Bendery with congratulations and words of gratitude. Much was said about the development of the city, about what has already been achieved and about plans for the future.

The Supreme Council Chairman, deputy for constituency Number 1 “Solnechny” of Bendery Alexander Korshunov congratulated the residents of Bendery on the City Day.

Special words of congratulations from the stage of the Palace of Culture were heard from the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky.

They were awarded the Order of G. A. Potemkin-Tavrichesky for the great contribution of the residents of the city of Bendery to maintaining peace and security of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and in connection with the 615th anniversary of the founding of the city of Bendery. This is a new award, which was presented for the first time in Pridnestrovie.

The best doctors, social activists, employees of local enterprises and municipal service workers received state awards from the hands of the President in the course of the ceremonial meeting, outstanding Bendery residents.

Local artists and creative groups of the city performed with a festive concert on the stage of the large hall of the Palace of Culture named after Tkachenko at the end of the ceremonial meeting.
