50 years of Tirotex: interview with the general manager

Light industry occupies an important place in solving the problems of economic development of Pridnestrovie. We discussed with the general manager, the PMR Supreme Council Deputy Andrei Viktorovich Mezhinsky the current state of the industry as well as the activities of the flagship of the light industry of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Tirotex textile company.

- Andrey Viktorovich, the textile industry has faced recently many difficulties. How does Tirotex cope with these challenges?

- The light industry has faced some difficulties indeed, such as competition from imported goods. Logistics have become more complicated in addition, and all costs associated with the delivery of raw materials and spare parts have increased. However, I would like to note that no economic shocks could shift the company’s development vector from the production of textile products of the highest quality. We try to adapt to new market conditions and thereby not lose our competitive advantages. We carefully study the needs of our customers and constantly improve our products to meet their expectations.

First, we have invested significant resources in upgrading our equipment fleet to create high-quality textiles. This is confirmed by numerous awards at quality competitions and the international Oeko-Tex certificate, which guarantees the safety of our products for human health.

Secondly, we have improved our production efficiency and streamlined processes to reduce production costs.

Thirdly, Tirotex attaches great importance to design and style. Our designers are successfully working on creating unique and fashionable collections of bed and table ranges. Every season we delight fans with new products of ours.

- The Tirotex company has a bright and eventful history of 50 years. What are the company's plans and prospects for the future?

- Our team today looks into the future with confidence and is creating new pages of history. We plan to maintain our leading position in the international textile market through continued innovation and the creation of quality products. In addition, we remain steadfast in our commitment to training our employees and expanding their skills. We believe that people, our employees are the key resource to our success, and we strive to create a supportive and motivating work environment.

- As a deputy of the Supreme Council Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, please evaluate the impact that Tirotex is having on the development of the republic today.

- Of course, Tirotex still plays a key role on several levels in addition to the most important thing - stable budget replenishment. Firstly, the enterprise creates jobs and provides stable income for several thousand of our employees. This helps stimulate the region’s economy and preserve the quality of life of Pridnestrovians. In addition, we actively work with local schools and educational institutions, providing internship opportunities in a company with the most modern fleet of textile machinery in Europe. This not only contributes to the development of education in the region, but also contributes to the training of young specialists. We are proud to make a significant contribution to the development and prosperity of Pridnestrovie.

- On the eve of Tirotex’s anniversary, we wish the company to write many more glorious pages in its history. Without a doubt, your workforce will share the success of your enterprise more than once.
