The 44th anniversary of the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan

Today is the 44th anniversary of the Soviet troops into Afghanistan entry. Fresh flowers were laid in Tiraspol, at the Memorial of Glory in memory of the fallen internationalist soldiers.

Afghan soldiers emphasized that this was one of the longest local conflicts since the Great Patriotic War, in which Soviet military personnel participated. More than 500 thousand soldiers and officers passed through Afghanistan, almost 15 thousand of them did not return home alive.

Pridnestrovians were among those who fulfilled their international duty. There were over 2000 people, both military and civilian. 54 residents of the republic were among the dead.

According to him, today 1250 Afghans are registered in the Association, and 24 out of 50 disabled people from this war are alive.
