Dear Pridnestrovians!
The 19th of June is the day when armed aggression against civilians in the city of Bendery began.
33 years have passed, but the memory of those terrible days will forever remain in the hearts of people. There is no one today who would forget the price that the Pridnestrovians paid, defending great values –d the right to live freely on their land and speak their native language. 489 people died in Bendery, including 132 civilians, women and children. The tragedy in Bendery of 1992 is a clear indication that it is impossible to suppress the will of the people by force of arms. We are proud of and highly appreciate the patriotic feat of the participants in the armed conflict, which became a benchmark in actions to preserve the independence and dignity of the republic. Their self-sacrifice serves today as an example in our efforts to strengthen stability and security for the benefit of all the people of Pridnestrovie.
We bow our heads in mournful respect before the fallen and keep in our hearts the memory of the heroes who became a symbol of unbending will, fortitude and patriotism. We must do everything in our power to ensure that such a thing never happens again.
Eternal memory to the fallen!
Chairman of the Supreme Council
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
