33 Deputies

The Supreme Council adopted in the final reading a number of legislations relating to optimizing the number of deputies of the republic. Earlier, the initiators of the legislative innovations were the parliamentarians themselves. The main goal is to reduce government spending. According to the amendments to the Constitution, in the seventh convocation, the deputies will consist of 33 people.

The total number of deputies of the republic is 1155 people. The package of legislations is also aimed at optimizing the number of deputies of local Councils. It is required to improve the scheme of education of constituencies. Their borders will expand. At the same time, cases of fragmentation of rural settlements into two electoral districts will be minimized.

A single voting day for the election of deputies to the Supreme, city and district Councils will be held in 2020.
