The 30th anniversary of the PMR State Symphony Orchestra

The State Symphony Orchestra of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic celebrated its 30th anniversary with a festive concert. The program included classics and familiar hits, music by Tchaikovsky, an excerpt from the opera "Eugene Onegin", Tarantella, and melodies from films. A real holiday for classical music lovers took place the day before at the Palace of the Republic.

The State Symphony Orchestra, known today not only in Pridnestrovie, but also in other countries, was created in 1994. At first, it was a chamber orchestra. It consisted of only 10 people. The orchestra's staff consists of 65 virtuoso musicians and technical workers at present.

The orchestra's repertoire includes more than 1000 pieces today. The symphony orchestra not only pleases Pridnestrovians and guests of the republic with its performance under the direction of Grigory Moseyko, but also organizes a number of interesting and long-term creative projects. For example, the International Festival of Classical Music "Musical Spring of Pridnestrovie", which has been held for more than 15 years. The orchestra actively cooperates with musicians from other countries within the framework of long-term projects.

The musicians were congratulated on the orchestra's 30th anniversary by the country's top officials. The President's welcoming address was voiced by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov.

The speaker of the Pridnestrovian parliament Alexander Korshunov presented its artistic director and chief conductor Grigory Moseyko with the "Order of the Republic" on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the State Symphony Orchestra. This is the highest state award of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, which is awarded for particularly outstanding services in the defense of the republic, state building, economy, science, culture, art, education, protection of health, life and rights of citizens and other services to the state. Grigory Moseiko was born on April 17, 1949 in the small Ukrainian town of Gulyaipole. He studied at the Chisinau State Institute of Arts named after Muzychesku. He worked in the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Chisinau as a soloist-flutist 17 years. He moved to Tiraspol in 1998, where he created an ensemble of early music, the experienced musician headed the State Symphony Orchestra of the PMR in 1999.
