30 years since the founding of the PRB

Festive event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the creation of the PRB was held in the assembly hall of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank. The leadership of the republic and deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic were among the guests of honor.

The banking system of Pridnestrovie like all state institutions of the republic was created from scratch. They said in the course of the solemn meeting that this is the uniqueness of the Pridnestrovian state. The emergence of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank marked the beginning of the formation of the national financial system.

Our own currency, our own mint and printing press – these are advantages, but also a great responsibility, they said in the course of the solemn meeting. However, Pridnestrovie managed not only to create, but also to maintain its own monetary system. Thanks to the professional staff who work in this system. The best veterans and current employees were invited to the anniversary.

The PMR President congratulated the employees and presented them with state awards. The speaker Alexander Korshunov noted the importance of creating its own banking system in the republic. The starting point in this process was December 22, 1992, when the PMR Supreme Council adopted the Law "On the State Bank". The Chairman of the Supreme Council emphasized that the Central Bank adequately copes with the tasks set, protecting the financial and economic interests of Pridnestrovie.

Important milestones in history: the launch in 2000 of the printing production of money on the territory of the republic, the issuance of the Pridnestrovian ruble in 2001, the opening of the mint in 2005. The Central Bank is a modern state institution with a special status that performs all the functions that are mandatory for it today.

There were many veterans among those invited to the anniversary, among them the first head of the PRB Vyacheslav Zagryadsky, he was also a deputy of the first convocation of Parliament.
