Republican Union of Women of Pridnestrovie is 30

The history of the women's public movement in our republic began in 1989-90. The United Council of Labor Collectives was actively operating in the towns and districts of the left bank of the Dniester that time. Women's associations were also part of the joint strike committee. It was they who became the basis of the women's movement in Pridnestrovie. Women stood shoulder to shoulder with men during the fighting in the early 90s, took an active part in protecting the republic from the aggression of Moldova. The formation of the social movement took place at the first republican conference of women, held in the city of Tiraspol in 1992. The public association of citizens "Republican Women's Union for the Defense of Pridnestrovie" was created then. The organization was reorganized in the form of transformation into the Public Movement "Republican Union of Women of Pridnestrovie" with the preservation of its succession in July 2001.

Many years of active public work of women in the organization was awarded high state awards for courage and heroism shown in the defense of the freedom and independence of our Fatherland, active participation in the creation, protection and development. By Decree of the President of the PMR No. 461 dated August 23, 2006, the public movement "Republican Union of Women of Pridnestrovie" was awarded the highest state award - the Order of the Republic.

The "Republican Union of Women of Pridnestrovie" unites more than 300 women in its ranks today. It includes 6 territorial women's public organizations of the cities of Pridnestrovie. Activists of the movement organize and participate in various regional and republican events, conduct active propaganda work during periods of election campaigns.

Solemn events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Republican Union of Women of Pridnestrovie took place in Dubossary today. The welcome address was sent by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov.

Dubossary activists were congratulated by Boris German, Deputy of the PMR Supreme Council for constituency No. 11 "Central".

The members of its Dubossary branch were awarded state awards and departmental certificates in honor of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the public organization. Pridnestrovian activists were congratulated by the creative teams of the city of Dubossary and the region of Dubossary.
