The Agreement "On the Principles of the Peaceful Settlement of the Armed Conflict on the Dniester" was signed in Moscow 30 years ago, on July 21, 1992. The result was the cessation of hostilities in Pridnestrovie, and a peacekeeping operation began. The peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation entered Pridnestrovie on July 29, 1992.

A round table was held on the topic “Participation of the Russian Federation in the peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie. 30 years of peace and stability” today at the site of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeeva, deputies of the Supreme Council, Head of the CEC of the PMR Elena Gorodetskaya online and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev took part in it from the side of Pridnestrovie.

The Speaker of the Parliament emphasized in his speech that Russia for Pridnestrovie is a real and reliable guarantor of peace and stability in the region. Pridnestrovie is an integral part of the great Russian world. The Pridnestrovian people highly appreciate Russia's efforts to preserve peace. According to Alexander Korshunov, the current peacekeeping operation, conducted under the auspices of the Russian Federation, was, is and will be a reliable and the only guarantee of peace.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council emphasized the role of the Pridnestrovian parliamentarians of the 1st convocation: the idea of holding a peacekeeping operation was actively discussed and promoted in the most “hot phases” of the conflict and at the level of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie.

The peacekeeping mission of Russia and the peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie as a whole are protected at the legislative level. Article 278-3, which provides for punishment for denying the positive role of the peacekeeping mission of the Russian Federation in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, was introduced into the PMR Criminal Code in July 2016 at the initiative of Vadim Krasnoselsky. He held the position of Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR that time.

Concluding his speech, the Head of the legislature addressed the Russian parliamentarians with a request and proposals to expand cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie in the socio-economic and humanitarian spheres.

Vadim Krasnoselsky in his speech listed the factors that contributed to the success of the peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic paid special attention to historical aspects.

The PMR President in conclusion expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Russia for ensuring peace in the republic.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev drew attention to the difficult situation that has developed in the region today.

Members of the Federation Council noted the high degree of effectiveness of the peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie. At the same time, much attention was paid to the actions of Ukraine and Moldova, which contribute to the growth of tension in the region. Members of the Federation Council confirmed that Russia will not allow the withdrawal of peacekeepers from Pridnestrovie.

All opinions and proposals of the participants of the round table will be formalized in the final resolution. Speeches, reports and opinions of experts and politicians will be collected in a special collection, which the Federation Council will send, among other things, to the leadership of Moldova.
